Sundance Quilt
"Sunflower....good mornin'. You sure do make it like a sunny day!" - Neil Diamond
Sundance is a cheerful quilt named after the collection. I wanted to design a quilt with blocks that looked like the sun with a center that I could fussy cut and incorporate the sunflowers as well. The finished quilt is 63" x 82" and the finished blocks are 12" x 12" sewn on point with two different prints for sashing. When I was playing with sashing options, I was attracted to the focal sunflower print because it adds another fun element of interest.
That nice little pop of orange that is used for the corner stones and block accent is Basic Grey Fandago (30150 -11).
I My favorite thing about this quilt is the sunflower panto design that brings it all together. The sunflower stitches really stand out on the navy setting triangles. I shared my vision with Tia Curtis and it came back better than I had imaged.
I'd like to give a special shout out to my friend Laura Piland who helped me with binding while my arm is on the mend.
The PDF for Sundance will be available in August!
