Moda Block Heads 4: Block 8

The weeks are just flying by and we're already on week 8 with Wild Geese by Kate Spain. You can find the instructions for this block on Kate's blog.

I love to modernize traditional quilt blocks with fabric and layout choices. I switched things up this week and used two prints from the Kasada collection along with Zen Chic's script print for the background. I purchased the script to use as backing but I have enough scraps to use on my Block Heads sampler. It's too pretty to throw away and I love the texture it provides!

I've been cutting the squares for my HST at 3 1/4" and then trimming down to size. Works like a charm! I just wish I had a rotating cutting mat. That will be my next quilty purchase! Happy sewing friends!
