Kiamesha Quilts
I have recovered from Quilt Market and it's time to share projects using my new collection Kiamesha, that will be shipping to stores in April 2020! This is a fun summer collection inspired by a 1960’s glitz and glamour getaway in the Catskills. You will find cheerful prints with sailboats, sunshine, fish and pineapples. One of my designs includes a hidden peace sign, representing a plea for peace then and now.
I designed four quilts to go along with the collection. I couldn't have a pineapple print in my group and not design a pineapple quilt! This is my Pineapple Paradise quilt, perfect for a throw or a wall hanging. The finished size is 62" x 80".
I think pineapples are so fun and festive in the summer, however, they symbolize friendship, hospitality and warmth, which makes them timeless!

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to sit outside in the evening and look at the stars. My Summer Nights quilt captures all of those good feelings when you're stargazing. Finished size 66" x 66".

With every collection I design, there is a some research involved for creative titles. I recently learned that the design on a compass is sometimes called a Wind Rose which fits this quilt design perfectly. You shouldn't set sail without a compass! Available in two sizes; (64" x 80") and (80" x 96").

Pictured with one of my favorite flea market finds here. I love my turquoise ceramic fish! He's so funky and fun.
Fishing and spending time on the lake is a favorite summer pastime. After looking at my prints in the Kiamesha collection, I imagined a cute fishy block and designed this fun quilt called Sun Fish! Finished size 60" x 60".

My friend Laura from Slice of Pi Quilts, made this lovely sample of her pattern High Tide using Kiamesha fabrics. The quilt uses bias tape appliqué and no curved piecing! It is made using the quilt-as-you-go method and includes directions for five sizes from table runner to queen. The blue bias tape in this sample is Bella Amelia Blue.
