How To Make...A Kimono!
Kimonos make a fun fashion statement anytime of the year and they are so easy to make. I did a little pattern hack from one I bought over the summer and I thought I would share it with you. This pattern features Moda Rayon from the Botanica collection that releases in October!

One reason I love to make kimonos is they only take about an hour. You basically just need 2 yards of fabric with a soft drape and a 1/4" rolled hem foot for a professional look. If you haven't used one before, it only takes a couple practice runs to get the hang of it. YouTube is a great resource if you need further instruction. Once you are feeding the fabric through correctly, it does all the work for you.
Another important note is to make sure you are sewing with a needle appropriate for the type of material that you choose. When I sew with rayons I use a ball point needle to avoid puncturing or snagging the fabric.
Tassels are a great way to add some pizzazz after you have finished the hem. There are several options on Etsy. I found mine at Beads Venture.
